As a Design System Lead, you will be accountable for the success of our Design System and Design System team, from discovery through vision, iteration and socialization, to roadmap planning, delivery, documentation and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be the point person for an overhaul of our design system
  • Lead a cross-functional effort focused on crafting, evolving and maintaining UI/UX patterns, components, documentation and guidelines that help designers, developers and writers build cohesive end-to-end experiences that our customers love
  • Create a culture of collaboration, sharing and trust between teams working on a wide range of products
  • Make inclusive design and accessibility a key part of the design system
  • Evolve our visual language in partnership with our brand
  • Lead cross functional prioritization, production planning, and execution
  • Facilitate the definition of business, design and accessibility requirements for each component
  • Partner with designers to explore options, create and test prototypes for usability
  • Plan and facilitate design reviews, workshops, demos and retrospectives
  • Coordinate approvals with design leadership and business stakeholders
  • Build a design system roadmap and tactical execution plan, with quarterly milestone
  • Organize, track and provide visibility into current activities, team utilization and priorities
  • Be a champion for the design system, helping to socialize it and increase adoption across the organization

  • Extensive experience as a product designer, user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, front end engineer or similar role
  • High proficiency in modern design tools to explore and communicate interaction, visual and motion design concepts
  • Previous experience building and implementing a design system with reusable design patterns, documentation and components.
  • Ability to shift from big picture to tactical easily
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Resilient and levelheaded when dealing with change, ambiguity, challenges and adversity
  • Proficient in Atlassian Confluence + JIRA, Google Drive, G Suite apps, Microsoft Office and Slack
  • Proactive in seeking opportunities to improve personal skills and experience
